This lovely Colombian coffee comes from Pablo Yugüe’s farm in Inzá, Cauca. It is comprised of several varietals, Gesha, Caturra, Común, and Colombia. Grown at 1880 meters above sea level, in the shade of Guamos, avocado, and chachafruto on a 2 hectare farm, this washed process coffee belongs in your cup every morning! Well into his years, Don Pablo keeps working away to raise his 11 children. One thinks that he should retire or hang up his hat, and then you try his coffee, and think, I hope this man never stops producing his coffee!

Don Pablo doesn’t have memories of coffee farming with his family at an early age, like most producers. In fact, he suffered the loss of his parents when he was 2 years old. When he was 10, he moved to Huila to work on coffee farms picking and processing coffee cherries. He moved back to Inzá, where he was born, and lived in the home his parents left him when they passe; farming coffee the way he learned to do throughout his life, and where he has lived for the last 40 years.

He possesses the stoicism of other Nasa indigenous peoples. He is straightforward and concise when he speaks. His answers carry in them the weight of wisdom and honesty that one finds often, so far away from the busy lights of the big city.

Don Pablo perceives himself as a fighter, who has suffered in life, but has learned that coffee gave him a helping hand when he most needed it. “I am an older man, but I will keep farming coffee until I can’t anymore”, says Don Pablo.

This is our current espresso at our café, but we also consider it a favorite as a pour-over or filter coffee. So many good things to say about this coffee. Try it and see why!
